My Colorgenics Profile...

This thing is surprisingly accurate...

http://www.paulgoldinresearch.com/cg/

--@--

You are seeking an affectionate relationship, offering fulfilment and happiness. You are capable of powerful emotional enthusiasm. Deep down, you are a kind loving person, always helpful and willing to adapt yourself if necessary to realise the bond of affection that you desire. But you need the same consideration and understanding from others and it is this need that will sometimes hold you back... so let go, trust and you may pleasantly surprised at what happens.

You are working extremely hard - perhaps even above and beyond the call of duty. You are preparing for the future and therefore trying to build a firm trouble-free foundation upon which you may base all of your dreams and aspirations.

You have a high opinion of yourself. It is perhaps because of this self-centredness that you become exasperated when you feel that your needs are misinterpreted by those around you. When this happens - and it does quite often - you feel that there is no-one that can understand the way you feel and it is because of this egocentric self that you are quick to take offence.

You are being unduly influenced by the situation that is all around you. You do not like the feeling of loneliness and whatever it is that seems to separate you from others. You know that life can be wonderful and you are anxious to experience life in all its aspects, to live it to the full. You therefore resent any restriction or limitations that are being imposed on you and you insist on going it alone.

You wish to be left in peace... no more conflict and no more differences of opinion. In fact you just don't want to be involved in arguments of any shape or form. All you want is for 'them' to get on with it - and to leave you alone.

RE: Guys, Do You Understand Girls?

As the title suggests, this post is a response to a blog post that I read earlier today. See the full post here.

First of all, this would be a generalisation of the male and female gender as each individual is unique and there are always exceptions to the rule. Well, now that the disclaimer is out of the way, lets get down to business =)

I think the bigger problem is the different definition of the "small things that matter" to men and women. Men are unfortunately bound by their egos. Society has determined that men should be the stronger ones and take care of the women. Hence, men don't want to be perceived as weak.

In some cases, some men relate showing affection as showing weakness. This is because men should be able to handle life's trials and tribulations by themselves without having to resort to physical contact such as a hug or a cuddle for comfort.

As for the matter of sending short notes and messages, some men find it a hassle especially after the so called 'honeymoon' period in the relationship. It also doesn't help that men are also constantly teased about having to constantly "report-in" to their significant other. Although personally, I don't subscribe to this line of reasoning.

Having the ability to pick up subtle hints during conversations is a honed and practiced skill. Most men are even unaware that their women are dropping such hints and secretly hoping that the men take notice and surprise them later. I guess men firstly need to be told outright about this occurrence as most are too ignorant too automatically pick up on such things. Communication is key!

When it comes to the matter of giving praise, it can be a very sensitive topic so most men prefer to leave their praises for very special occasions. Imagine how difficult a position he would be in when his praise of "Hey, you look good in this dress" gets retorted with "Are you saying I don't look good in my other clothes?" =)

However, a well placed compliment can do wonders to boost a woman's self-esteem as well as make her day especially coming from a loved one. I totally agree that both men and women should be more tactful in expressing their dissatisfactions regarding their partners. After all, no one is perfect and we all have our insecurities.

The bottom line is men and women are vastly different in many ways but I'd like to believe that He made us this way to complement each other. To allow us to support each other in the best possible manner.

I would recommend that everyone read a book titled "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus" to get a better idea into the inner workings of the mind of both males and females. You can find a summary of the book here.

In the recent years, there has been much speculation about "Sensitive New Age Guys" (SNAG) which I believe to be very in tuned to the needs of women. They instinctively know better what women want in each situation and are not bound by society's mold of how men should act. Perhaps us men can learn a thing or two from them to make our significant other's life just that little bit happier...

TITG recommends Mozilla Firefox!!!

I have been using Mozilla Firefox for the past few months and have nothing but praises for this fantastic software. Not only is it faster and more user friendly than the big bad IE, it also has many super duper useful extensions that allow you to do so many things from the Firefox interface. WoOTs!!

The extensions I find most useful are:-

1. FoxyTunes

This nifty utility allows you to control all the basic media functions from a small taskbar located at the bottom right of your Firefox browser thus you can immediately see the name of the song currently playing, skip to the next song in your playlist, increase/decrease the volume, etc all from the comfort of your browser while surfing =P

If that isn't good enough, it also has a built in search engine that immediately displays the album cover of that song together with the capability to search for lyrics and even to purchase the album!!

2. Video Downloader

There have been many applications that feature the capability to download videos from youtube, google, etc to your hard disk but I've always found it a hassle to use them. Now there's Video Downloader, featuring auto-searching for the videos embedded on the website.

One single click brings up the entire list of videos on the page together with a link to download them directly. Once its downloaded, you can use any FLV player to play them from the hard disk. Cool! =)

3. gSpace File Manager

Of course, I left the best one for last! ;D This has to be the best utility around since WinZip was invented!!! I can't stop raving about it!!

I have been looking for free fast hosting on the Internet for so long now. There are quite a few hosting services available but all of them seem to suffer from one problem or another such as lack of FTP support, slow to mediocre performance, problematic interface, etc.

Then I found one that uses your Gmail account to store your files!!! How about that??? The interface looks exactly like a FTP client so you can create a directory structure to manage your files neatly. Bundled together with Gmail's storage space of around 2.768 GB, I'm sure it will be a while before you run out of storage space ;)

What's even better is it supports different modes such as the Photo Mode that allows you view your uploaded photos in a gallery view as well as a Player Mode to listen to all your songs directly from your gSpace Firefox interface without the need of downloading to your harddisk!! This has to be the best thing around since Swiss Cheese!! =D

So there you have it, 3 fantastic reasons and more describing why you should switch to Mozilla Firefox today! =P

Your Seduction Style: Fantasy Lover

You know that ideal love that each of us dreams of from childhood? That's you! Not because you posess all of the ideal characteristics, but because you are a savvy shape shifter. You have the uncanny ability to detect someone's particular fantasy... and make it you.

You inspire each person to be an idealist and passionate, and you make each moment memorable. Even a simple coffee date with you can be the most romantic moment of someone's life. By giving your date exactly what he or she desires, you quickly become the ideal lover.

Your abilities to make dreams come true is so strong, that you are often the love of many people's lives. Your ex's (and even people you have simply met or been friends with) long to be yours. No doubt you are the one others have dreamed of... your biggest challenge is finding *your* dream lover.

What Kind of Seducer Are You?

Hurrah For Blogspot Beta!!!

Celebrations and Jubilations!

Blogspot has finally decided to upgrade its features to include categorisation! Blogspot users can now attach labels to each of their blogs to categorise them accordingly. I therefore have no need to consider other blog hosting providers anymore. Yay! =)

I am loving the new interface for designing the blog layout. Its MUCH simpler and more straight forward. Not to mention that the interface for changing fonts and colours is now SO much easier! No more messing around with ASCII colour codes!

My only complaint is the lack of mass labelling of existing posts meaning that I would have to go through EACH and EVERY previous post and manually add a label. Is it worth the effort? The perfectionist in me says YES. Oh well..

All you Blogspot users out there, go ahead and upgrade to Blogspot Beta, you'll be loving the cool new features and functionalities too! But make sure you backup your existing template first, as you'll have to redo all your template customisation later. =(

Difference between a Psychologist and a Psychiatrist???

Something that Wawa and I were wondering about the other day....

The simplest way to describe the difference between them is that a psychologist primarily aids the depressed patient by counseling and psychotherapy. A psychiatrist may also perform psychotherapy; but, in addition, can prescribe medications and perform ECT (electroconvulsive therapy). A psychiatrist is a medical doctor. A psychologist may hold a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) and be called "doctor"; but, is not a medical doctor (M.D.).

So, NOW you know... =)

Relationship Lingo ???

Due to exposure to Hollywood films, I have been bombarded with various types of relationship phrases but until today, I have no idea what these terms actually mean. The terms that I know of are:-

Boyfriend / Girlfriend – I’m sure everyone is familiar with this

Going Steady – I believe this relates to boyfriend / girlfriend

Going Out With / Seeing Someone – Are these terms meant to be associated with dating
exclusively or are they used in casual dating instances?

Dating – I believe that this term can be used to indicate either exclusive or casual scenarios

It all seems rather complex to me, if it were up to be I’ll associate dating / going out with / seeing someone with casual dating and restrict the use of going steady / boyfriend / girlfriend to exclusive dating practices.

The new KLIA LCCT ...

Over the weekend, I followed some friends to check out the new KLIA LCCT. For those of you who are still unaware, all the budget flights (read: Air Asia) have been moved to the new KLIA Low Cost Carrier Terminal starting last 24th March 2006. A friend of mine had planned a trip to Phuket and wanted to scout out the place so that he would be more familiar when he was due to fly the following week.

The KLIA LCCT is actually located further away then the main KLIA terminal by an estimated 10-15KM. I estimated it took us an extra 10 minutes to reach the LCCT terminal compared to driving to the main KLIA terminal. There is clear signage leading to the LCCT terminal from the NKVE KLIA exit so getting there should not be a problem.

The LCCT building itself looks like a huge warehouse. It seems that the term 'low cost' is evident even in the construction of the building itself! The walls seem to be made of zinc type material similar to most warehouses. Thankfully, the interior of the LCCT is much better looking although slightly cramped. The airport layout is well designed and there should be no confusion between the check it counters and departure gates for the average traveller.

My biggest gripe with the LCCT would be the lack of sky bridges. I understand the need to bring down the cost of airport charges but the lack of sky bridge would equal to huge inconvenience to passengers. I saw the planes parked about 500m away from the terminal building and walking that distance under the hot Malaysian sun is no pleasant experience I assure you.

Accessibility to KLIA and KL Sentral is pretty good with shuttles provided in a pre-determined interval that is relatively short. Just RM9 to KL Sentral and RM1.50 to KLIA which is cheap compared to the price most cabs will charge you for that same distance. Didn't stick around long enough to find out whether the buses were actually punctual or not. =)

Cool photo of the sun!

Might as well snap some planes flying at low altitudes

The previously mentioned shuttles to KL Sentral
