A Change In Environment...Hopefully...

Wow, looks like my company is really serious about moving office. It all started a few weeks ago, when one of my managers suggested Wisma Central as a office location due to it being recently gazetted as part of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC). My first thought was "Excellent! That should reduce my travelling costs and save me alot of time on the road!" But this was not the first time the company has been looking into moving location due to the constantly escalating rental at Cyberjaya, so I dismissed this as just another rumour.

However, today when the manager and CEO himself called a meeting with all the office employees asking for concerns regarding the move, I was genuinely surprised. "This might actually happen", I thought to myself walking towards the conference room with a smile plastered on my face.

Well, Murphy's Law does apply in most occasions and this one was not an exception, the minute the meeting was started, the typical objections were raised primarily by those employees who were living nearby which were a strong majority. Moving would only constitute an increase in travel time and costs and they were quick to voice their opinions.

Nevertheless, the management did try to allay their fears of traffic jams and higher travelling costs by proposing separate shifts allowing employees to come into office earlier and leave earlier so as to avoid the massive KL gridlock. I will try not to get my hopes up regarding this move incase it doesnt pull through but I really would like work nearer as I my patience for sitting in traffic jams has been wearing very thin. Cheers!
